The Tides of Change [Jonathon]

Well, this was the place where she was rescued by the tall young man and which she would have known him for a while ago. Despite the failure to get the results that they wanted the other day, she was rather determined to find out the answers for what kind of mysterious incidents happened during the time after the earthquake. She wondered if there were other people that had the potential, but there was no time to think about it now since the future of this city was at stake and the safety of her own family was something of a priority for her. She would be more worried if the rifts would have appeared back at her homeland, but fortunately those dimensional rifts probably had their permanent residence at Kanehira City in the present time. Still, the presence of rifts in the outskirts of the city were more troubling and that the citizens would most likely fall to their deaths if that was to be believed. As she walked into the streets of the ever so familiar shopping district, some of the people there were staring at her which was a normal reaction. After all, the Japanese citizens here have never seen someone who dressed so strangely and that they probably never seen a foreigner walk into their streets with such a regal air. Jonathon had found yet another dead end. He thought he'd seen someone else reacting to the shadows but it turned out they were just being attacked by a bee, which was unfortunate. Now another person thought he was crazy and he still had made no progress. As he started to sulk back home someone caught his eye. "Isolde?" He said, running over to her. "Hey, uh...sorry I sort of just ran up to you..." He said, realizing he probably surprised her. "I've kind of had a rough day, long story...Can I buy you a drink? I mean, if you have to be places, I'll just go...sorry, I'm rambling..."

Apparently, the familiar tall young man had some kind of habit of just popping up out of nowhere, but she didn't mind that kind of barging to be honest. "Oh yes, I'd like you to buy me a drink. I do not mind your company, do stay with me for a while." For some strange reason, she really felt better with him around or maybe he was just actually one of those friend that would cheer you for up when there was a bad day. She felt like he was actually a friend that she could talk with and maybe their friendship would be something much more. Something that she couldn't help but feel like there was something else that people would have felt when they had become very close to the person they were friends with. The research into those Shadows and the incidents that happened were going well and that she needed to get some more leads into those strange incidents. "Alright...yeah, let's do that." He said, leading her to a near by cafe and getting a table. "So, how are things up at House Nohr? Anything interesting to report?" He asked, trying to make conversation. "So far my day has been getting dirty looks from strangers who had a bee land on them, that was fun." He let out a sigh as the waiter arrived at their table. "I'll just have a tea and then I'll pay for whatever she'll order." He said before she could offer to cover with the royal account or what not.

He would ask her how things were going at the royal household which she would immediately respond to his question with a smile. "Well everything has been doing okay. I have been helping Xander out with his duties which includes the usual preparations for when he will be crowned the king of Nohr soon. Other than that, I have been doing extensive research on the manuscripts describing the legends of old. It seems that the old legends describe an unknown descendant slaying a black monster." The manuscripts from the library must have described some sort of existence of the evil monsters that have been inside the Inverse World though no one knows for sure. The old legends themselves were of ancient history that the royal family's ancestors had foretold though they have described something about some kind of monster being slain by a legendary descendant or something. Whoever that was, she would probably have to ask someone who knows about the unknown hero's exploits which it was the only way she could research into. "I shall have water if you please." It would seem that this cafe was probably one of those businesses that were a little successful than that other cafe that she had seen while she was at the shopping district on her own free time. "At least you're finding something I guess." Jonathon said, sighing as he waited for their drinks. "I haven't found anything at all since the newspaper clipping. If this does wind up being a chosen one prophecy, hopefully we can find them." He said, looking at her and thinking that it might be her. "Whoever it is, I'll do what I can to help." He smiled at her. "And I'll do what I can to keep you safe too..." He said to her, being honest about it. Then their drinks arrived and Jonathon quickly took a sip of his tea, cringing a bit as it burned its way down.

Despite that failure from the other day, they had to keep going to pursue the answers that they were looking for which Jonathon himself may have gotten nowhere. Unfortunately, he hadn't found anything at all except the newspaper that showed the events that happened after the earthquake, but this could probably help them get another solid lead to the right direction. It would just be a matter of time before someone else would actually learn that they too might have witnessed the events after the dreaded earthquake had struck this city. "I believe all we can do now is to rely on other sources. Perhaps there may be someone else who knows about the incident or another piece of news about the incident itself." It was highly doubtful that there could be another person that knows about it, but it would be worth another try anyway. If it didn't work out as planned, the extensive research on the old legends would probably yield more information than getting another person to talk about said incident. Eventually the tall young man said something about keeping her safe too which was probably the first she had heard it from another who probably had a desire to protect girls or something. "Oh... "I mean it though." Jonathon said, working up his courage and blushing a bit. "I...I like you Isolde. I don't know how to properly explain it..." He started to mumble. "I feel like an idiot but at the same time, when I'm with you. It's like everything's gonna go right even when it doesn't." He was blushing now and finished his tea. "Sorry...that was, really sudden. I probably shouldn't have, especially since you're royalty. I bet you get all sorts of suitors better than a peasant like me...I...I should go, shouldn't I?"

Well, he admitted that he did like her and it came out so awkwardly that he might as well be reciting Romeo's love for Juliet or something. The problem was that he still had some doubts that they could ever be together since he kept referring to himself as a lowly peasant compared to a royal like her. "D-don't say that!! I do not care if you are of a social class lower than mine, but I never had any suitors trying to win my affection so far." Arranged marriages were something that she never even thought about except for a time where her parents were heard trying to arrange a marriage for her older brother as he was a direct successor to the throne and was becoming king soon. She figured that many high-class individuals didn't have to worry about their own status to fall in love with the common folk anyway. "Um well...the truth is I-I like you too. I enjoy your company very much and that I always felt better around you." A faint blush creeped upon her cheeks as she managed to get her true feelings out. "Wait...Really?" Jonathon said, surprised by her reaction. "I...I wasn't sure what to expect really. That was really sudden for me..." He muttered, looking at the empty cup of tea. "So...now what? I don't really know what to do at this point...Do you wanna just, stay here, or..." He was incredibly awkward in this situation, and he hadn't been expecting for his feelings to be reciprocated. "Whatever you want to do...really."

He honestly didn't expect her to reciprocate, but that was really more of a pleasant surprise than anything in between. This was probably very awkward for the tall young man, "Well we could always leave and walk around the shopping district. I do not mind at all." That being said, she probably never went on a real date before and this was some kind of opportunity to just relax without all that chaos around them. Most people would find it strange that interclass romance was still there today, but she didn't really care who had the most money as long as they would treat someone right with the same amount of respect. Perhaps her older brother would probably teach her about going on a successful date with someone, but this was the moment where they were going on a very real date. "At any rate, I never been on a real date before, but please take good care of me." On a worse note, he might be afraid that Xander would come and beat him up for not taking care of her, so that would not look good for the family's reputation after all. "Of course. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I ever did something to hurt or upset you." He said, honestly worried that he could do her wrong. "But yeah...I'd like that. The shopping district is probably pretty empty at this point." He said, glancing out the window and seeing a shadow float by. "Any place in particular you want to go? I don't really care, so whatever you want really."

Jonathon would ask her where she would like to go as there were a lot of stores that they could just go to and look at everything before buying anything. She figured that Japan might have some stores where they had some figurines from some popular Japanese animation or video games that were released only in Japan. "I have very limited knowledge of Japan, but I would like to see what kind of interesting animated shows they have." Most Japanese citizens would think that having an interest in foreign material was weird for a foreigner from another country to be interested in, but this was probably some way to learn about the culture of this country. Besides, seeing some shows from Japan was likely something akin to a cultural exchange where foreigners could learn more about what made Japanese animation so widely popular with western audiences. "I know some of the citizens here may think it strange that a royal like myself has a keen interest in their shows, but my butler has been asking me if they had DVDs of Black Butler." She always remembered that her own butler wanted to be the very best butler that he can be though it may be chalked off as being too competitive for his own standards. Of course, the butler was always reminded that this was not some kind of competition. "Oh, uh, alright." Jonathon said, a bit surprised by her request. "Yeah, I know a place. They have a lot of anime and manga and stuff like that. He paid for their drinks and led her to the store. "I haven't been here in a while so I don't know exactly what they have and where it is. I guess we may as well just look around the place. I'm sure they have all sorts of cool stuff." He said, his hand awkwardly fumbling next to hers to try to hold it.

As the tall young man lead her into some store that had stuff on anime and manga which was what she would be looking for in terms of trying to fulfill her butler's request for a certain popular butler anime. Black Butler was certainly one of them that most female fans would love to see since they had very cute male characters just for the female fanservice. She probably doubted that Alfred would ever want to see handsome male characters on a big screen unless he was a girl himself, but some of those anime had some blatant fanservice for the male fans as well. The young lady felt his hand trying to awkwardly hold hers which she would try hard not to snicker though it was probably because of his own nervousness at having a first date with a royal mostly. With the poor guy's awkwardness in question, she might as well help him ease into their date for a little while as she gently held his hand. She would pick up some DVD that described the protagonist as a princess which it could probably be related to her own life though this was different. Some of the Japanese teenage girls were staring at her as if they never seen anyone dress really strangely, but they probably assumed she was a foreigner from another country. What she didn't realize is that the Japanese teenage girls were swarming to a rather familiar presence for beauty tips. "Oh hello little sister. It's such a pleasant surprise to see you here." It would seem like Camilla was actually giving those Japanese schoolgirls advice on how to look pretty though the notion that they would have known she was also a royal was out of the question fortunately. "It's nice to see you again too, Camilla-neesan."
