Full Name: Chikabane Kayo
Nickname: N/A
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Grade/Career:professional onee-chan Student at Kanehira University, in her final year
Ethnicity: Japanese
Family:
Chikabane Jiro & Hanae - Kayo's father and mother respectively. They're both alive & well.
Chikabane Chiyo - Kayo's younger sister. 17 years old and in her third year of high school.
Chikabane Saya & Sakura - Kayo's youngest, twin sisters, both 9 years old. They're in 4th grade.
Face Claim: Fire Emblem Fates - Camilla
Appearance
At 5'9", Kayo is uncharacteristically tall for a Japanese woman. She has a shapely, curvaceous build that stands out among her family and her peers, and her cat-like manner of walking ensures that it stands out. She has wavy purple hair, usually of shoulder-length or longer, and purple eyes to match. Her manner of dress is very feminine - she prefers fashionable and often fancy dresses that allow her to show off, although she's also quite fond of fur (or at minimum fur-lined) coats. All of this goes out the window when she's riding though, and she'll switch out her fancy clothes for a skin-tight bikesuit.
Personality
Likes: Motorcycling, physically intense activities, hands-on activities, women, her family, her sister Chiyo especially
Dislikes: Overly heavy clothes, being unable to cut loose, slow days, gravel roads, having to restrain herself, slaves to tradition
Hobbies: Motorcycling, practicing with various (training) weapons, doting on her siblings
Goals: To live a life she can both enjoy and be proud of
Kayo is the type of person who believes life is foremost meant to be enjoyed. Her philosophy is that you can be the hardest working person in the world, but if you are not satisfied with your life and your day to day, you're only hurting yourself. Because of this, while she's as studious and dedicated as she needs to be, she will always find the time (or make it, in some cases) to do what she wants. Usually this involves some manner of thrilling activity, such as riding around town on her motorcycle, or spending time with her family. Kayo is extremely close with her family. Though recently she has developed a particularly strong connection with Chiyo, she will dote on and even spoil all of her siblings, and interacts with her parents on respectful but friendly terms.
She has very little shame. Though not promiscuous in the least (she's already decided who her heart belongs to and will give it to no one else) she nonetheless has no problem drawing gazes to herself. She also doesn't bother to hide her hobbies or her interest in other girls, but takes both good and bad responses to them in such a stride and with such confidence that it has to be respected. Though she can be quite daunting on first meeting, she's quite sociable, difficult to upset, and loves meeting people.
History
Kayo has had a fairly ordinary life. She was raised in a loving an accepting family, and fell into the older sibling roll so smoothly that she still occasionally jokes about being a 'professional onee-chan'. She did well in school and could have gone to university in Tokyo, but stayed in Kanehira in order to stay close to her family. If anything was unusual about her life, it came from Kayo herself. Her hobbies and interests were atypical for a girl her age right from the start. While she didn't mind cooking or sewing or playing with dolls, she preferred excitement. And for a time, she was an outsider among girls her age because of this. But she quickly learned to take it all in stride, and won friends, boys and girls alike, through sheer confidence. It is perhaps this confidence that allowed Kayo to handle later hardships so well.
They wouldn't come right away, of course. Kayo was well into university before anything went wrong in the peaceful shipping city of Kanehira. Working on an engineering degree, Kayo adjusted to the college life well, although she quickly learned that anyone who claimed that university would be easy street after high school was either lying or clueless. The earthquake that shook the city didn't affect her too much, although she started to become concerned when the reports of people going missing continued after the initial incident. Her worries led her to become extra careful about making sure her family was safe and sound, but nothing in particular ever happened to her.
That was, until she saw Chiyo disappear right before her eyes one day.
Kayo had run into her sister by chance while out riding that day, only to watch her vanish from the street before she could get her attention. Riding towards the spot, she saw a hole in the world open up, leading to another Kanehira. But Chiyo had already run off, leaving only the faintest indication of where she had gone by hammer-smashed debris and the dissolving remains of...something. Kayo followed the trail, moving slowly to avoid being thrown from her motorcycle by the cracked asphalt and chunks of brick and concrete, but failed to spot her sister. It was when Kayo finally started to panic that a shadowy figure started to form before her, taking on her own appearance but with glowing golden eyes and an ominous aura. But the shadowy doppelganger had mere seconds after materializing before Kayo registered that whatever was going on, it was bad news...and slammed on the gas to run the figure over.
In the end, the shadow never got a word out. Once Kayo had run it over to make her point, she gave it an ultimatum: help her find Chiyo, or she'd run it over again and leave it in the dust. Whatever repressed feelings she had (not that Kayo ever had a chance to learn that much), they didn't matter, and like anything else that came her way, she'd own it and take it in stride. And so the shadow disappeared, leaving behind the ethereal figure of a warrior woman carrying twin legendary spears. Then, drawn to the roar of the motorcycle's engine, Chiyo showed up just in time for the figure to vanish. She explained what was going on, in her...own way, but as far as Kayo was concerned, she had gained the power to protect her family should a disaster such as the one to befall the mirror world ever strike. And it was one she was ready and willing to make use of.
