She would have opted to research more on the existence of Shadows, but she felt like taking some sort of break at the city's shrine which the weather felt a bit cold. Besides that, her own brother was helping her with the research that she was doing although he had said that he would be a bit busy with his own duties. A few people were going in and out of the shrine as if they were finishing up their own prayers and this would be a perfect opportunity to collect her own thoughts at this rate. She still wasn't sure what had happened to cause the rifts as of late, but maybe the manuscripts could have the answers she was looking for as well. As she made her way to the park, the general quiet atmosphere was perfect for some calm time with herself before she could do some more research on the existence of those monsters. While she remembered the good old days of her childhood with her mother singing her favorite lullaby when she was a child, the blonde young lady sang softly to the exact tune of the lullaby that she remembered, oblivious to anyone that would have passed by this park if they would heard her singing. Jonathon had found something, maybe. A newspaper clipping from around the time of the earthquake. It wasn't much but it was a start. The reporter mentioned something about strange creatures around the wreckage but wrote them off as feral strays. The fact that this person had seen anything meant that maybe there was another person that could see shadows. Finding the only home in the city owned by royalty wasn't too difficult, getting over the fence outside however, would be. Deciding rather not find out just how sharp the spikes at the top were, he decided to make his way around the fence to see if there was a tree or something he could use to get over. While he couldn't find that, he did hear something, singing. As he followed the sound of the song he stopped when he saw Isolde on the other side of the fence and he couldn't help but smile as he watched and listened.

For a moment, she didn't notice that someone would be listening to her song, but she wouldn't mind anyone listening to her sing anyway. Strangely, her mother's own lullaby actually made her feel a bit better about the apparent conflict that was happening during the time that an earthquake had struck that city and made the rifts appear. With the rifts growing ever closer to making the city feel unsafe for the civilians to go out, she had to do what she can to ensure the safety of Kanehira City's citizens even if they wouldn't believe that there were strange tears in the air housing many Shadows. If they didn't do anything about the rifts soon, the city and the kingdom that she and her brother worked hard to protect would be in grave danger. After she would finish her song, she would look around to see if anyone would have listened in and to her own surprise, it was actually a certain familiar tall young man that had awkwardly walked away the last time that they talked. "Oh, I...did not see you for a moment, but it is nice to see you again..." She would give him a small smile though the troublesome fence would probably make things harder for the tall young man to get in. "Oh, hey Isolde, uh...sorry for showing up out of the blue." Jonathon said with a bit of the chuckle. "Right, reason I'm here. I think I finally found something. It's not much but it's a lead!" He said as he frantically dug through his pocket before pulling out a crinkled piece of paper. "Some reporter talked about seeing some weird stuff moving around after the quake. Maybe we can track him down and ask about it." He said, sticking his arm through the fence to try to hand it to her.

"A lead you say? I will take a look." She would respond as she made her way over to where his hand would be sticking out of the fence and gently took the crinkled piece of paper. That piece of paper must have some sort of lead that Jonathon was talking so excitedly about and as she smoothed out the crinkles, it was in plain sight that this was a major lead whether it had good information or little. It would seem that a reporter had witnessed the earthquake which it was when the rifts had started to appear and that was something she could investigate on. "If this reporter has seen these Shadows moving around after the earthquake has happened, I'd agree we should we track him down and ask him about it." The blonde foreigner would add as she gave the paper back to the tall young man. "I had asked my brother to help me and he has said he'll give his full support on the matter. Xander regards this troubling matter about the strange moving shapes seriously, so he'll do what he can to help out. The same can be said for my elder sister as well." Even if her own family didn't have the power required to beat the Shadows, they were probably trained combatants all the same and nothing could ever deter their determination to help end the appearance of rifts once and for all. tag: Jonathon McDowell ▪ words: 252 ▪ ooc: None.

"Exactly, I figured we could try to track him down and ask him more about what he saw." Jonathon said, wiggling his arm free of the fence. "I mean, if you're free. If you're busy helping run a country or what not I can just go do it myself. I just figured maybe you'd like to tag along..." He said, trailing off. "I hope that I'm not going to get chased off by guards for being here..." He started again, trying to make conversation. "You...you have a really nice voice..." He muttered.

"Ah, no. That is my brother's duty, not mine. I do not mind if I should tag along with you." She would respond as she asked one of the guards on patrol if they could open the gate. Once the gate was open, she would stand at his side before he added that he hoped that the guards wouldn't catch him for being here. That would probably not sit well with any of her father's most loyal ones if they actually managed to catch him trespassing on their property or something. Still, they wouldn't dare try to arrest him if she was here anyway, so he would be fine as long as she would tell them that he was just an acquaintance of hers. "As long as I am here, they will not touch you for trespassing upon the property. You need not worry about it." She was sure that her parents wouldn't mind her tagging along to interview some reporter about the events that he would have witnessed after the earthquake happened and strange stuff happening afterwards. Apparently, she did hear him mutter something about having a really nice voice which she never really had someone compliment her like that. "Oh thank you... The song that I sung earlier was my mother's lullaby. I suppose I inherited my mother's singing voice." Singing alone probably helped her have some calm time when things were getting a bit hectic, but she really hoped that the Shadows wouldn't attack citizens out of nowhere. tag: Jonathon McDowell ▪ words: 252 ▪ ooc: None.

"Ok good, I feel like getting taken in by a royal guard wouldn't be something to easy explain to professors." Jonathon chuckled, looking at the guard that opened the gate. "I don't know how you do it, spending so much of your life with guards. I know you can get away, but it has to be tiring to have them around." He said as they started to walk away. "As for the reporter, I did a bit of digging, he's still in the city, supposedly. He hasn't written anything since this article." He said, smiling at her when she thanked him. "You're welcome, I'd never heard a song like that one before, makes sense if it was your mother's..." He paused for a minute to figure out what to say next. "I liked it."

This reporter probably had some information that he would tell them since he would probably have some kind of leads to the incidents that were happening around the city. "My whole life has been sheltered for as long as I remember. It was not easy trying to evade the guards, but I did manage to sneak out a few times outside of the castle using a secret passage my sister told me about a long time ago." She did remember those times where the secret passage she used was the key to seeing the outside world since the guards probably didn't know about that secret passage in general. It made it a whole lot easier with trying to see what life outside of that gilded cage was like in the first place. Jonathon would comment that he never heard a song like that before especially since it was her mother's song, but she did hear it a lot when her mother would sing to her. "I am glad you liked it. My mother's song really has a very special meaning and well...she used to sing this song when she was a little girl too." "Secret tunnels, sounds like a good way to get out." Jonathon said, impressed by what this place had to offer. "Wait, sister? Is she anything like your brother?" He asked, still a bit nervous about her brother, and she had more siblings beyond him too. "Yeah, I really liked it. I could tell it meant a lot to you by how you sang it." They made their way back into town. "The address I found is supposedly around here somewhere." He said as he started checking the lists outside of the buildings. "It'd help if there weren't so many apartments around here. Wait, thing I found it." He said, heading over to one building. "Are you sure you want to go through with this? We have no idea what this guy might be like, especially if he's seen the shadows."

"My older sister is not like my brother, no. She is really nice, but she can be a bit overprotective of me sometimes." She could probably remember that her older sister would probably not hesitate to give others a bad time if they didn't treat her precious little sister right and that was what older siblings always do when the younger sibling feels threatened. He was right when that song really meant something to her which maybe someday, she could teach her children how to sing this song too. Jonathon would try to figure out what kind of apartment that the reporter was residing in. It didn't take very long before they would reach the building and that the reporter himself might have been a bit paranoid regarding the events that happened after the earthquake had struck Kanehira City. The tall young man would show concern since it was likely that the paranoid reporter would attack them or something which she probably couldn't care less about. "Worry not. "Great, so your sister would probably throw me out or give me some test to prove my worth." Jonathon muttered as he found the buzzer for the apartment number he got. He buzzed a few times but nothing happened. "Looks like he's gone..." Jonathon sighed, ready to give up and keep moving. "What do you want?" A voice crackled over the apartment loud speaker. "What? Oh, hello. We'd like to talk about your article, the one about the earthquake. We have a few questions." There was another pause on the other side.

"Do you see them too? The creatures?" The voice started, clearly afraid.

"Yeah...We want to figure out where they came from, maybe you could help us?" Jonathon asked, there was a strange sound from the other side. 

"No, just forget you've seen them. Forget you know me. Just try to live a normal life. There's not much longer for you too. The worst is..." And then it cut out. Jonathon tried a few more times and nothing happened.

"Great...It looks like another dead end." Jonathon said, letting out a groan and slamming a fist on the wall. "I'm sorry I dragged you into this Isolde. You're family is probably worried sick about toy. After all, you just ran off without telling any of them with some pesent on a crusade to save the world. I...I'm really sorry about this..."

This reporter was clearly afraid when he would ask them what they wanted and that the guy knew what they would be asking him about. There was some conversation and then the buzzer went dead silent after the reporter told them to just live a normal life and forget about the knowledge about the Shadows. The tall young man was clearly frustrated that they reached a dead end, but they probably couldn't give up as long as the reporter needed to give them answers. "Do not apologize... I wish to save this city from those monsters. I could not care less if my family would worry about me not telling them about my crusade to save the city from an evil that is unknown to normal civilians." The conversation itself was turning more solemn the moment that they would speak about Jonathon dragging her into this mess. "My only desire is to end this conflict and bring peace to this city. As long as there is this unknown evil threatening to cause chaos, the citizens may live in fear." It was true that if they didn't vanquish the Shadows soon, the whole city may live in absolute fear that the rifts would make the Shadows appear and cause the extinction of the human race. "Yeah but still. We're stuck in this insanity now and I feel bad for dragging you into this." Jonathon said, starting to pace on the stoop of the building. "I just feel bad, a few weeks ago you were set to just spend the rest of your days as a princess with servants and what not. Now you're wrapped in following some peasant on what very well be a suicide mission or fruitless endeavor." He said, sighing. "Do you want me to walk you home now? Seeing as this little adventure gave us another dead end. Sorry..."

Again, he would apologize for dragging her into this mess and that she wouldn't be able to live a normal life as a royal anymore until this mess was sorted out. Now that they were pretty much into a dead end, he would ask her if she wanted him to walk her home which she would agree to. "Yes, I would like you to walk me home." This adventure was nothing more than a mere disappointment since they didn't get the answers from the reporter since the poor reporter was probably afraid that the Shadows would attack him or something if they tried asking him about it. Either way, they were probably going to get their answers from another source one way or another. It was just a matter of time before someone else could have witnessed some moving shapes around the time after the earthquake.
