Shion glanced at the clock, stood up and walked to the edge of the arrival area when she heard the train coming. It was good to know that the train schedule was still right on time. Around two years ago, Shion had also alighted from the train here, coming home from St. Bridget for the last time. Around nine years ago, she first came to Kanehira, her grief made heavier by the confusion of having her life turned upside down. Now she was here not to leave, but to meet someone and ease her transition to living in this city.
Despite Shion's expressed misgivings, it seemed that her uncle Daisuke was determined to send Kimiko over to live with them. Did Shion not want her second cousin there? Debatable. They were close when they were children, but that was so long ago. The last time they met face to face, it had been... too complicated and weird. Both of them had grown up, after all, and plenty of things have changed. And Kimiko definitely wasn't who Shion remembered. However, even with the two aforementioned reasons, the model would have been fine with sharing a roof with Kimiko -- they were still cousins, after all -- if not for the disappearances and the Inverse.
There was, sadly, no use crying over spilt milk. So, she was just going to have to make the best out of it. And so Shion scanned the multitude of people leaving the train cars, looking for he young lady who had been practically her sister all those years ago.

Kimiko couldn't lie, she was excited. She'd been excited ever since her dad had revealed that she was going to be moving in with Granny and her old best friend Shion. They were second cousins and, in their little kid days, had been practically sisters. Up until things just... got bad. But who cared about all that? She had things to pack and lists to check off and things to plan! The bespectacled girl had thrown her energy in to picking out appropriate outfits for the cooler weather of Kanehira, checking the Internet for things of interest in the city, preparing a case of her luggage to accept the gifts she was bringing. Well, it was good to have something to work for for a change! Much more interesting than school and insincere rabble.
The train ride had been long by her reckoning, but it wasn't all that bad. In only a few hours of watching scenery pass on the train, from the wide expanse of the countryside to the bustling cities in between them, she heard the call for her stop. Kimiko could barely contain her excitement, her typically neutral expression swept up in a bright smile that even rain or an annoyingly talkative seat mate could have stopped. And that seat mate tried his best to annoy her, too. He must have been foreign. But she had to endure him no longer, bouncing up to grab her backpack from the storage above her seat and heading for the indicated exit, swinging the pink nylon bag on to her back over the pretty blue dress and black stocking ensemble she had on, with a cozy black jacket to match. The train rumbled and bounced along the track noisily, horn blowing to warn any ne'er do wells that it was pulling in to the station.
Kimiko would have preferred to be the first off the train, but a few people had already crowded around the door. For the best, she supposed; it gave the workers time to heft her two additional bags off the baggage car. The bags would be waiting for her in the station proper, and as she stepped off she turned her head this way and that to catch sight of her cousin. It sure was crowded in this station... Ah! There she was, waiting by the barricade! The redhead girl stepped up her pace, waving to Shion and practically bouncing up to her. The last time they'd met Kimiko hadn't been the nicest; she hadn't recognized her cousin and had been... well, you didn't treat family like that! This time would be different, and she greeted her favorite cousin with a big hug. She had apologized already for the misunderstanding and the words said, but...
"Hello Shion!" She chirped happily, smiling ear to ear. Shion was the taller of the two, and Kimiko noted as she stepped back from the hug that she didn't look quite as enthused as she herself was. Understandable, from their last meeting, but... Well, she was going to make up for all of that! As best she knew how! "I'm so happy to see you! I can't believe father is really letting me move in with you and Granny! Ah, excuse me, how have you been? It has been a while since we met last, hasn't it? I, ah, apologize for that again. Well... Shall we go? I have to get my bags from the counter before we head to the house..." But don't let on you have something for them yet, nope! Don't spoil the surprise!

Shion had to smile when she sighted the waving girl. It hadn't been too long ago since the last time Shion had seen her, so she knew her adorable cousin by sight. However, this time Kimiko actually looked excited, unlike last time. And well... Last time had best be forgotten; Kimi had apologized to her, and Shion shouldn't be holding grudges against her cousin anymore. Might be best to never mention in again, even though it might be hard to since that had been the first time they met again after so many years and it made quite an impression on Shion.
"Oh!" The model exclaimed when the other girl hugged her. She hadn't expected that, given how last time long it had been since they were close enough to be hugging. Catching her own inaction, standing there with her hands at her sides like a statue while someone had her arms around her, Shion lifted her arms and returned the girl's embrace, squeezing back warmly before Kimiko let go. "I'm glad to see you too. It's definitely been a while, and you don't have to keep apologizing for that."
Maybe, just maybe, they could regain that same familiarity with each other. Kimiko seemed genuinely happy to be here. And well... Shion had been unaware of what has been going on in the other Amanomiya house. Uncle Daisuke was a good man, but maybe there was something else that necessitated the move. It wasn't like Granny was going to tell her anything either, so Shion was going to be a good girl and refrain from prying. She wouldn't want Kimiko to nose around Shion's affairs anyway.
Best to get their new housemate settled in, then. She must be tired from that long train ride. "I'm surprised Uncle didn't accompany you all the way here. Granny wanted to be here to greet you, but she's at home, clearing out the st-- your room." She wrapped an arm around one of Kimiko's, and began to walk towards the counter to get her luggage.
There were a lot of people at the counter, all trying to get their bags, but there was an advantage in being the premier model of the young ladies' and teenage divisions of a popular clothing brand. People paused and stared, but Shion just proceeded and stood behind the only person who was actually properly in line -- the person currently being assisted by the station staff. "Do you have your luggage tag ready?"
